OOMEGA Development Kit (ODK) is based on Java 6 and the Eclipse IDE which is widespread in the Java community, because it's freely available, open source and in fact a very good development platform.
Hence the very first steps are to setup JDK 6 and Eclipse 3.6 (Helios). Then OOMEGA’s ODK plug-ins can be installed.
